President's Message

Dear GABWA Members, Supporters, and Friends,

It is my honor and privilege to serve as the 44th President of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), a dynamic and transformative organization that has championed advocacy, equity, and empowerment for over four decades.

Our mission is clear: to nurture, support, and galvanize the power of Black women attorneys; to advocate fiercely for women and children; and to empower our communities. As we navigate an ever-changing landscape, GABWA remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that Black women are not only represented but also uplifted in the legal profession, judiciary, and public office.

This year’s theme, "GABWA Reimagined: Purpose, Power, & Passion," reflects our bold vision for the future. It calls on us to embrace innovative strategies to further our mission, to deepen our impact in advocacy while reflecting a spirit of hope and renewal as we build upon GABWA’s enriching legacy.

As we reimagine what GABWA can be, we will continue to:

  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that protect and support women and children.
  • Increase Black female representation in the judiciary and public office.
  • Provide mentorship, resources, and opportunities that empower Black women attorneys and law students to excel in their careers and lead with confidence.
  • Build community partnerships to address the critical needs effectively.

I invite you to join us on this journey as your support and involvement are invaluable to achieving GABWA’s mission. Together, we can reimagine what is possible, redefine the standards of equity, and create a future where the power and passion of Black women continue to play a role in shaping the legal landscape and uplifting our communities. Thank you for being part of the GABWA family. Let us move forward with Purpose, Power, and Passion.

In Service,

Roodgine D. Bray, Esq.
