Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) will be hosting a Free Wills Clinic in Douglas County, GA on August 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Lithia Springs Senior Center. They are seeking volunteers to assist low-income clients with simple Wills, Advance Directives for Healthcare, and Financial Powers of Attorney.  This service will be provided at no cost. These clinics are aimed at assisting low-income clients who are at risk of losing their family homes and generational wealth.  Such issues lead to homelessness and the destabilization of entire communities. The clients have all been pre-screened and have completed will questionnaires. 

Volunteer attorneys can participate virtually or in person and are not required to have estate planning experience and will have access to training materials. There will be staff onsite to assist with revisions and document execution as necessary. If you can participate, please specify whether you are available in the morning or afternoon. Please feel free to share this opportunity and the attached flyer with any attorneys licensed in Georgia who you believe might be interested in participating.

Available Volunteer Time Slots: 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
Lunch will be available beginning at 12:00 p.m.
