As we approach GABWA’s election season I would like to highlight the following revisions to the Constitution which were approved by the General Body in November 2017:
- Election:
- Regular Members, current in their dues at the time of their nomination, are eligible for any elected office, subject to the criteria below:
- Only individuals who have: (i) been a Regular Member of the Organization for at least twenty-four (24) months immediately preceding the year in which they would hold the office of President-Elect and Vice President; and (ii) served on the Board of Directors (to include past service on the formerly known Executive Board) for a minimum of two (2) terms immediately preceding their nomination as set forth in Article III, Section 2 below shall be eligible to run for those offices.
- Only individuals who have been Regular Members of the Organization for at least twelve (12) months and served on at least one (1) committee shall be eligible to run for a position on the Board of Directors, except those individuals seeking to run for Regional Vice President, who shall only be required to be Regular Members of the Organization for at least twelve (12) months prior to running for the position of Regional Vice President.View more details on the changing structure
